Chocolate Pudding

1/2 c. Bisquick 1/2 c. cold water
3/4 c. sugar 2 1/2 c. whole milk
1/3 c. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla

Mix Bisquick, sugar + cocoa.
Gradually stir in water + milk.
Bring to boil, stirring, over med. heat.
Boil one minute. Add vanilla. Cool.
Add 1 cup whipped cream + top with cream.

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Whipped cream, to serve

Method

  1. Whisk the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute, until thick.
  4. Off the heat, stir in the chocolate, butter and vanilla until melted.
  5. Press plastic wrap onto the surface and chill at least 2 hours.
  6. Fold in whipped cream if you like, the way she did, and top with more.
